On October 15–16, the Capitol Tokyu Hotel brought together hundreds of hospitality professionals for the Hospitality Japan Conference to dive into the realities of doing business in today’s fast-changing world. Over 100 experts and 300 attendees explored the challenges and opportunities that are setting a new tone for the industry.

We joined a panel discussion on one of the most pressing topics in hospitality today: reducing hotel waste without compromising the guest experience. Where do we stand now, and how can technology help us move toward greener operations?

Our Director, Amy Washio, spoke about how embracing circularity in hospitality is both an experience and a technology journey. Guests had a chance to learn how our BEE Sense AI-driven tools make waste data more transparent and accessible, and help operators and guests make choices that truly reduce it.

Being ambitious about circularity and eliminating plastics doesn’t need to trigger concerns about compromising operational service, but rather, there are ways we can use this mission to elevate the experience and service,” – Amy Washio, Director at BEE Japan.

It’s truly inspiring to see how creative and effective waste reduction strategies are already being implemented – and how much potential still lies ahead!
